Description Of Rottweiler Dogs

The Rotty breed came from Germany around the period of time of the 1800's.The Rotty has a really mellow disposition and is extremely clever. A Dog is employed in these lines of work as the dog is extremely dependable. A Dog prospers on human riendship and human interaction so as to be ecstatic. When the Rotty first came from Germany the dog was employed for herding purposes.

Head:-

Rotty Head The skull is of mid length, broad between the ears. The forehead line is tolerably arched as seen from the side. The stop is well defined.The Rotty nose is well developed, more broad than round with comparatively huge nostrils and always black. The muzzle should appear neither lengthened nor shortened re the cranial area. The nasal bridge is broad at the base and tolerably tapered.The lips are black fitting with the corner of the mouth not observable. The gums should be as dark as practical.

Neck:-

Robust , of fair length, well muscled, a little arched, clean, free from throatiness, without dewlap and exceedingly long neck.

Body:-

The back is straight, powerful and firm. The loins are short, robust and deep. The croup is broad, of medium length, and a little rounded, neither flat nor falling away. The chest is spacious, broad and deep ( roughly fifty percent of the shoulder height ) with a well developed forechest and well sprung ribs. The flanks aren't tucked up. Tail Natural bob if present the tail was traditionally docked. Docking is banned in Germany, the U.K and some other nations. An un-docked Rottweiler tail is level in extension of the higher line ; at ease it could be hanging.

Limbs:-

When seen from the front legs of rottweilers are straight and not placed too closely to one another. The slope of the shoulder blade is about forty five degrees to the horizontal. The shoulders are well chilled out. The higher arm is close fitting to the body. The forearm is strongly developed and muscled.

Gait:-

The Rottweiler is a running dog. In movement the back remains firm and comparatively stable. Movement is balanced, steady, full of energy and unrestricted, with good walk.

Coat :-

The coat is composed of a top coat and an undercoat. The top coat is of mid-length, coarse, dense and flat. The undercoat must not show through the top coat. The hair is a little bit longer on the hind-legs.Rottweiler puppy Rottweilers living in hot climates could have acclimatised and could be missing the undercoat.
